The By-The-Book-Perfect Man

In a conversation with my friend about Love and almost anything under the sun over coffee, he left me too many questions that I am yet to answer leading to this post. All questions revolved around the central theme of finding The One who happens to lack a check or two in your checklist.

Girls, I am no expert at Love but I know a few things or two, and you may disagree with most of what I have to say, and I am in no position to change those beliefs but here's what I have to say:

1. Responsible

Translation: Priorities. A man who knows his priorities knows that in order for you to live that happily ever after you BOTH always dreamed of, he's got to have a plan, and a back up plan and a back up plan to his back up plan. He's preparing himself so that when the right time comes and he can support you, take care of you and be with you, he's got nothing to worry about except how to plainly ask your hands from your father. In short, He knows his priorities. He knows that at 18 he's got to have good grades so when he reach 21 he can have any job he wants and by 25 he's leaning everything he needs to know about life, and by 28, hopefully, he's got it all figured out: He wants YOU in his life.

2. Someone You Can Be Silly With

Literally and metaphorically, really! Silly enough that when you're so down and all your friends did everything they could, all he needs to do is crack a-not-so-funny joke and voila, you understand why so many things happen for a reason and you silently thank God that in those many things, He gave you this man beside you to be silly with, to poke fun of and seldom gets offended because he knows you to the core of your being and cheer you up when things don't go always as planned.

3. Conversationalist

You know how Ted and Barney always do huge stuff, so they could later on talk about it and  brag about it to their friends? and by the finale, Ted and the Mother had reached this point wherein they know all of each other's story? Woman, the forever that you're planning in your mind, is a long time. If you can't keep a man like Ted by your side, Forever will be a boring one. Screw Nicholas Sparks and his belief that silence draw people together because only those who are comfortable with each other can sit without speaking. People who talk it through, gets it through.

4. Shares Your Interest

Im not disowning the phenomena that opposite attracts, I firmly believe that. However, through the course of time, someday you've got to find a common ground and LOVE, frankly speaking ISN'T ENOUGH. You can't go around reading books while your partner's trying every extreme sport while trying not to break his neck in the process. At the end of the day you would want to know the team he's rooting for in NBA (so you could go against him) and he'd want him to remember the quote you totally relate in a book you've just read, which my friends, lead us back to number 3.

5. Logical

No relationship is perfect. We should all know that by now. And when the time comes when you both disagree at a certain circumstance, issues ensues and maybe men isn't always the winning team but when a guy went all out, its always the harsh truth. So want a man that's logical. Want a man that when things aren't looking good and your hormones are at red limits, he understands. Want a man that when things are gruesome at school, at work or even at home, he won't stray you away, instead he will always have the right things to say.

6. Has Faith and is not Poor of it

Religion-wise and Loyalty wise. Maybe its a bit traditional and maybe its a standard not a lot can understand but I've seen how my parents were and how we were raised. God-centered. Them, staying for more than 22 years together is a reflection of how their Love and Commitment is sealed by the grace of God. I've seen it work more many times. Old couple going to church, Grandparents renewing their vows. I could go on. And all these, all because they are wealthy in Faith. And lastly,

7. Very Much In Love with You

To the point that if he can give you the moon, stars and the sun, he will and he would. (think Howard of BBT. He gave his wife a star necklace which he had to take back when he leave for a space mission so that he could actually give her a star from space!) But most especially, he's in love with who your are: bare faced, with fats and flabs, cranky, brutally outspoken, Ryan Gosling-swooning and always scrutinizingly overthinking. He loves every bit of your personality, he is your number one fan and your dream motivator. He will be the one cheering for and supporting you as you chase your dreams. He wouldn't hold you back, instead he will push you to do your best. He will give you the space you need but just enough that when you need him you could easily reach him out.

Some of you couldn't help but ask, where Physique and Looks comes in the equation. Girl, these are all superficial stuff. You can't be with someone you are not even remotely attracted to. Attraction is a subjective disposition of each individual. A standard is of no use. But I must say a really nice smile and oh yes, those ripped arms doesn't hurt.

So woman, never ever think your standards are too high or far worse, even toning it down to little less than you deserve because no such man is ever alive. They exist, and they may not be beside you but they are somewhere, making through life and realizing they need to up their game because they themselves don't deserve anything less for the woman of their dreams. Its only a matter of time and patience. They too will have their turn.

Any less than my version of by-the-book-perfect Man, isn't The One, because if #7 applies, everything else follows.

8 Must Installed Apps in your Device

In a digitalized world we live in, its actually impossible to find someone who doesn't own an iPhone or an Android device. And with all the technology making our world spin, shouldn't we maximize them according to our needs? Too much for introduction, friends! I present to you the 8 Must Installed Apps in your device that will make our lives not just easier but also more interesting than it already is.

1. File Manager

Whether you're part of the work force or a struggling student File Manager will help you in organizing your files viewable to you in the easiest and most productive way possible. Whether it be powerpoint, word files, pdfs, name it. more than just a tool to view your files, it also serves as storage device for your piling documents you downloaded from the internet.

2. Dictionary

I find this one very helpful and very handy especially when I come across words to which context clues is unable to help. Many may not understand why I have to include this in my list but it has been such a great help for me and I think a lot of bibliophile would have to agree. It makes the world a little less complicated than it seem (which has been my goal ever since. no surprise there.)

Its Something About You..

I have always been fascinated with how answering a series of questions can predict what you are or how you would most likely react when placed in a different situation. Its fun having to read about yourself in words very complementing of your personality and attitude.

I've had my fair share of answering different kind of test ranging from Who Pretty Little Liars Are You to the compilation of Kokology Tests but the most accurate test I have taken (well aside from those given in school that are validated) I took online.

Ever heard of Talentoday? I think, there was a point when everyone in Facebook was taking the test. The test however was quite long and a bit repetitive. but I know from Clinical Epidemiology that such questions are used to acknowledge whether the subject is serious in taking the exam, or aiming for a result that is positive and will give him a head start to being employed. In any case, Talentoday has a very organized way of presenting its results in a way that any individual can understand. Its compartmenting also allows the subject to know unto which area should he should try to improve or he is already excelling in. It allows its audience to be aware of the environment he works best in and which they are unconscious of.

Here are my results:

Pretty extensive huh?

Most were pretty true. I hate being part of a group project before because I tend to do all of the tasks and I was so sure before that I was doing a great job. and that was just one thing I was unconscious of.

Now I know that it may not work for everyone and other test may better describe you. Still, its the way you see and look at things that changes how we see ourselves. Yes, its fun, but don't let it dictate what you should become. I have this tendency to imitate what I see around me. I guess that was why I keep on taking these test. To not lose sight of myself. Maybe it was good for a short while but after sometime you revert back to being the chameleon of the situation that you're in.

Same thing goes for horoscopes. and zodiac signs. Because those astrologers just have to insinuate that a person's personality is affected based on the different day and year one was born like that would affect a person's growth and individuality. I take no offense however to what I've said because like many of you who believe in the stars, I'm as much of a fan. I even have these email subscription that keeps sending me invitations for tarot reading! (I have to figure out how to unsubscribe.) There was a time I move towards the becoming of those petty predictions and even though they don't go the way they were supposed to, I still kept on reading just because its still fun. I'm not saying its wrong to read and believe in them. Each person his own. read at your own risk. But letting it rule our lives and be the embodiment of words alone, that's a different story. Don't we all want that our persona be the words? Let the words remain the definition that define who we are. Personality Test or Horoscope aside.

But seriously, try Talentoday now and know your edge. Nothing to lose and yet all to gain.

Feature: School Bag Stories

I always have this major problem when school starts. I'm not crazy about shoes or pens or new notebooks, I am crazy with which bags to use. I'm not a purse person. I carry lots of stuff in my bag. I don't leave without my planner, at least a pen, my wallet and my vanity kit. So I need a spacious bag. So I rounded it up to my favorite top 5 bags I would definitely use to school.

Blue Polka Dot Cath Kidston Bag + Coach Legacy Mini Leather Shoulder Bag
I already have them so its fair to put it on my list, don't you think?

Student's Guide to the Best School Year to Date

It ain't always all about the grades, and the company you make, it is most of the time how you see things that makes a difference. Now I know that Changes, even how slow you go are still changes that you may still need to consciously think about before you do, however, without trying also leave us stuck to where we start before. Let's begin one baby step at a time. I mean 1 month at a time. There's actually nothing specific you are required to do, just that whatever you do in that whole month was to move towards your mantra. Let's try?

1. High Aspirations, Less Expectations

When you think about it, when you work for something you aspire for, there is no pressure, you could always work at your own pace. Remember: Dreams are just dreams until you go for it. So set it high, so high that you can see yourself there. For my case, I've always wanted to be a doctor, and I have always seen myself with a stethoscope around my neck in a white laboratory gown in my own clinic with my patients feeling all relieved. If you dream that vivid and you work it. You have it. Now I'm on my way to living the dream.

The equally important part is to lessen your expectation. I can't take that part all away, expectations will always be a part of us. especially when we worked so much for something and it doesn't end up the way we wanted it to. Its okay to expect that much, after all you did your best but when you eliminate the part wherein you expect that people will see things the way you do, you'll just get disappointed and instead of working to better yourself, you start giving up and that's not what we want, do we? So if you get a perfect score and you're expecting an iPhone, well maybe think lesser. A new pair of shoes probably (nothing fancy nor too expensive!) what's important is what you think of yourself. Did along the way, you learned something new? did you have the time of your life doing it? did you gain experience? if yes, that more than good enough. and more than the feeling of having an iPhone you'll lose interest in less than 2 months!

Feature: 10 TV Series that's keeping my tabs full

Hi everyone! I'm pretty sure I am boring you out with all these book covers and reviews I've got going, and brace yourselves for there's a lot more coming! I haven't been out doing a lot of food adventures, so I guess that huge chunk is going to have to wait. I however am still very active in Looloo especially for my Filipino readers, its just, its a lot of work and I really haven't found the time. But I will see to it that we fullfill that very empty METRO tab above with delicious post from my various food trip sooner!

On the other hand I have compiled all the TV series that's been bleeding out my internet connection! (I don't download, I stream online.) Though a few of them are finished and nearly not renewed for another season, they sure has been doing my fill of lazy days and TV Marathons before school officially starts near the end of June. I have been enjoying them alternating watching them when the others are in hiatus or preparing for another mind blowing new season, who knows right? Let's get rolling then!
